Mono - Poliglecaprone 25 Sutures
Polyglycolide-poly(e-caprolactone) copolymer (PGCL) Sutures
Mono - Poliglecaprone 25 Sutures Mono [Poliglecaprone 25] is a monofilament Synthetic Absorbable Suture which is a copolymer of glycolide and caprolactone, available in undyed and violet colour. It has low tissue reactivity and maintains 50 to 60% in-vivo tensile strength at 7 days and 20 to 30% at 14 days. Total absorption in tissues takes around 90 to 120 days. Being monofilament, the suture is smooth, making it easier to pass through the tissues as compared to braided suture. It has a consistency close to nylon suture material. The suture is notused in areas of high tension. This suture is generally used for soft-tissue approximation, subcuticular dermis closures of the face and as ligature. The suture is absorbed in tissues by simple hydrolysis and known for its reliable absorption.
- Synthetic - minimal tissue reaction
- Monofilament - a unique monofilament suture with high knot security
- Unprecedented smoothness minimises tissue drag and sawing
- Non capillarity minimises the risk of infection
Dscription :
PGCL is fast absorbable synthetic monofilament suture material bulk composed of Polyglycolide-poly(e-caprolactone) copolymer (PGCL). It is available undyed (golden clear) and dyed(violet) in color. PGCL is intended for assembly of sterile surgical sutures with and without needles.
- Wound support - Approximately 20 days
- Retention of 50% knot tensile strength after 14 days
- Complete mass absorption in 60 to 90 days
- Absorption - Mass absorption is completed between 90 and 120 days
- Unprecedented pliability - easy to handle and tie
PGCL is a mid-term absorbable synthetic monofilament suture made of glyconate, available in undyed color for the closure of superficial wounds and in violet color for the rest of indications. PGCL offers excellent handling properties and high knot security. PGCL is recommended for all soft tissue approximations.
These sutures comply with the requirements of U.S. Pharmacopoeia (U.S.P.) and The European Pharmacopoeia (PhEUR) except for a slight oversize in diameter.
Distinctive Characteristics of PGCL Sutures:
